Do you need help writing a funding application, or need advice on how to report on a project?

From artists to creative organisations, applying for funding and reporting on projects is a skill in itself. You’ll need to write proposals and grant applications, and then once funded you’ll need to manage data collection, analysis and reporting, as well as evaluating your projects, their cost effectiveness, and their economic & social impact, to name a few.

Wouldn’t it be nice to consult with experts in this field? Well New Wing residents London Economics are here to help!

London Economics will be offering free 1-2-1 advice clinics across the summer for the resident community. The team provide economic consultancy services for a large number of public & private sector clients, as well as charities.

They have experience of helping clients from a wide range of backgrounds write proposals and grant applications – and in general – can speak the language of many funding organisations, including the Arts Council.

They can also help with reporting, whether its for a funding agreement or your own internal use. The have experience of survey design/primary data collection and analysis of existing data, as well as spreadsheet analysis and data analysis.

They also do evaluation work (has a programme or intervention or a marketing campaign worked?); cost effectiveness analysis (did the intervention provide value for money?); as well economic and social impact analyses (how did a policy, intervention or organisation contribute to the UK economy or societal wellbeing?)

So that’s what they do. How can they help you?

  • Do you have to demonstrate that your activities have an economic or social impact or offer value for money?
  • Do you need to detail your future evaluation activities in a funding or grant application?
  • Do you need to provide detailed costs for a certain activity (and don’t know where to start)?
  • Do you need to analyse data – but it’s not really your thing?
  • Do you need to collect some data – maybe through a survey – but have never designed a questionnaire?
  • Do you need to retrieve a particular piece of data or evidence – but it seems impossible?
  • Is there something more general that you might want to chat about, for instance:
  1. Are you trying to understand the size of a potential market?
  2. Do you need to understand what impact exchange rates might have on your business?
  3. Is there some policy that might impact your business – but it is difficult to understand to what extent?
  4. Do you have a marketing message that you want to improve (yes, our behavioural economics team do this!)

Please note that London Economics cannot advise you on types of funding available. They can however help if there is a particular funding application that you would like to make, as well as advising on reporting & analysis strategies for grants and other projects.

If you need help with any of the above, register for one of their free 1-2-1 advice clinics that will be taking place across the summer. Each session will last half an hour and be held in a private, confidential space.

These advice clinics are open to all Somerset House residents, including office residents, Exchange members, Studios artists and Makerversity members.
